Searching...

So, as many of you know I am planning to move to the metroplex this summer. The decision was not taken lightly and will be a very big change for the kids and I. Really this is like leaving home for the first time. Also, for the record, I am not moving there just to be close to my parents. While that did play a factor, I am moving for lots of other reasons as well.

All that to say I have applied in 2 districts so far. I am still hoping to be in Kindergarten, but will not be picky. I took today off from school and made the rounds to some schools in the two districts. Its hard to get a good feel for some of the schools, but a three of the four seemed like a great environment.

I also looked at a few houses this weekend. I found several I like, they would just have to be ready to negotiate on the price! They are fairly reasonable for the area though. In the meantime, I need to sell mine here. If you know anyone in the market PLEASE send them my way!

I really believe God is orchestrating this move. I fully believe that when he places you somewhere He will take care of the details, like jobs, houses, and childcare. You can all join in praying for divine connections. I want my resume to jump off the paper at the right people. I have specifically prayed for great coworkers as well. I have been so blessed to have the girls I have right now! You have all become dear friends to me and I will miss you! Also, I really do want my house to sell quickly so we will be free to move forward with another one. Finally, I have been praying for the kids a great place to be during the day while I am at work. They have such a great situation right now so its going to be hard to top. But God only gives the best so the right place is just waiting for my babies! Thank you for joining in these prayer requests...

Running plans...

So a while back I decided it would be fun to run a 5K in the Amarillo March of Dimes.  Quickly it turned into a 10k.  Well, as time has gone on I have really enjoyed running and my marathon plans keep changing.  As of this morning the furthest I had run was 4.5 miles.  Not anymore!  I nearly doubled my longest by running 8.5 miles in 1 hour and 20 minutes!!!  It was so fun.  So, now I've been thinking that in 2 more months of training...could I be ready for a 1/2 marathon?! That totals 13 flippin' miles!!  I never would've thought I'd run anything close to that.  Also, I've decided I'll be joining some others from C town in the OKC Memorial Run in April instead.  We're all going to go down the day before cause the race starts at 6:30 am.  I think it will be very memorable.
Hmmm....decisions, decisions....

25 random things about me...

1. I will eat just about anything once. I like sushi, calamari and other weird stuff.

2. Once on a trip to Cancun I nearly drowned. Don't swim when there are red flags out :)

3. I swam competitively when I was young. At a swim meet when I was 5 a college tried to recruit me. (this makes #2 even worse)

4. On a trip to Germany I bought a cukoo clock for my brother and carried it all over the rest of Europe. Off trains...on trains...off..on. Only for you bro!

5. Chris and I started dating right after I turned 14 and the rest was history. He was the only guy I had ever been on a date with!

6. I always wanted to be a Rockette.

7. I have enough Native American ancestry to claim that as my legal ethnicity. I am 1/16. Didn't the blonde hair and blue eyes just give that one away? :)

8. Even though I am a very white girl...I tan really easily and really fast. I have only burned 2 times in my life and never have blistered. (see #7)

9. At one time I had 10 great danes living in my house.

10. I am a country girl at heart. I was a member of FFA in high school and did soil judging. I have run a combine and love to ride horses.

11. If I had to choose between losing all the salt from my diet or all the sugar...I'd lose the sugar. I love salty things.

12. In college I took 22 hours one semester.

13. I know how to weld.

14. Music moves me. I used to lead worship at a small church and truly desire to get back in a worship band someday.

15. On that...I have experimented with (not played well) 9 instruments.

16. My favorite dessert would have to be a toss up between ice cream and eclair cake

17. I am very outdoorsy. All my favorite activities are outside; running, 4-wheeling, hiking, etc...

19. My original Nintendo still works!

20. At last account I can still do a back handspring.

21. I am a coffee fanatic. I really like strong espresso.

22. One summer I helped bottle feed and raise a fawn. Her name is Jane Doe (ha ha) and she was so tame she thought she was a dog. She rode in the truck, followed you everywhere, ate dog food... We still see her occasionally at Cee Vee.

23. I think motorcycles are so fun. Chris and I owned 2 and loved riding together.

24. My nickname in junior high and high school was LaQuita

25. I have never been drunk. I don't have a problem with having some drinks, but just not to excess. My favorite drink is a margarita...salted rim...on the rocks please!

Kinda excited.....

So with the big trend popping up in C-town of running marathons I got to thinking. I have always run and enjoy it...so...why the heck not! I decided I'm going to run a 10K which is about 6 miles in the March of Dimes in April. I have ordered new running shoes and have started working out more faithfully. Monday I ran 3.25 miles, but then just 2.25 on Tuesday. I'm going to keep doing aerobics on Wednesday so I don't get sick of running. Wish me luck!

how long will it last?

so, I seem to only work on my blog when we have technology training. I'm gonna try to update more than every 3 months!
